Siruthai brings Karthik and Tamannaah as the lead pair for the second time directed by Shiva. Karthi is playing dual role for the first time and the film is the remake of Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu. He is playing the role of a pick-pocket named Rocket Raja and the other role is of a police officer named Ratnavel Pandian. The combo of Santhanam and Karthi is hilarious and surely the film is going to be a complete entertainer according to the film buffs.

Dhanush has become one of the festive hero, for last year Pongal he has come up with Kutty and for Diwali with Uthamaputhiran to entertain the audiences.
Aadukalam which is releasing on January 14th for Pongal is right now on with the promotions carried on by Sun TV. The film is a real life incident that happened in 1970’s in Madurai and Dhanush is seen in a mass character, who engages himself in cock fights. Tapsee Ponnu is pairing with Dhanush and this is her debut in Tamil cinema.

Ilaignan, Chief Minister Karunanidhi 75th film as a writer and the film is based on the novel written by him. Pa Vijay is donning the lead role, while Meera Jasmine and Ramya Nambeesan are seen in the female leads. Director Suresh Krishna is going to complete his 50th as a director with Ilaignan. The small screen promotion is going on in Kalaignar TV. The film is scheduled for January 14th, 2011 release.

Here comes the big doubt about Vijay’s
Kaavalan whether the film releases for Pongal or not. The film is right now in a big controversy with the theater owners as they are not keen in giving theaters for Vijay, unless he pays the loss occurred with Sura. Aascar Ravi Chandran has stepped into the issue and there are chances for the film to release on the day of Pongal worldwide.

The small budget films Karutha Kannan Rekla Race is a village background film with loads of sentiment, comedy, romance and the climax is to have a 10-minute rekla race and the other film is Sollitharava, which is a commercial entertainer. Finally Pongal is going to be the day which the films can earn the revenue, as the season of World Cup cricket is going to start from February 19 to April 2.Later to this is time of Tamilnadu government elections during the months of April-May.
